The Kent Cricket’s Visually Impaired (VI) County Squad has expressed its delight as cricketer Moshfique Ahmed has earned a place in the England team for the forthcoming Visually Impaired Ashes series. The prestigious cricket event will take place in Australia this November and is anticipated with great enthusiasm among cricket aficionados.

The Ashes series will feature three One Day Internationals and five IT20 fixtures throughout the month, as the England Men’s Visually Impaired (VI) team seeks to defend the title they retained in 2016. Moshfique Ahmed, who plays with a B1 sight classification, synonymous with blindness, has shown exceptional performance this season with the Kent Cricket VI Spitfires in the BCEW National League.

His selection into England’s 15-player squad signifies recognition of his perseverance and outstanding performances. Kent VI Captain Tom Barton shared his thoughts, stating, “The whole Kent team are very pleased to hear that Moshfique has been selected for England. This season he has made a strong contribution with both bat and ball. I’m sure he will be equally as valuable for England.”

As the anticipation builds, Ahmed is gearing up to represent England and embrace the challenge posed by Australia on cricket’s grand stage. Throughout Kent, the cricket community extends its best wishes to Ahmed, rooting for his success in the Ashes competition.

Aside from Ahmed, the England Men’s Visually Impaired Squad includes players like Matt Dean, Nathan Foy, Justin Hollingsworth, and the team captain Ed Hossell, amongst others, forming a formidable team eager to excel in the upcoming matches.
