Mumbai Indians Outshine In Ipl High Run Chases

Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals have etched their names in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for some breathtaking high run chases.

Back in 2020, Rajasthan Royals set the record for the highest run chase with an impressive 226 runs against Punjab Kings. Following closely, Mumbai Indians displayed their prowess in run chases with a remarkable achievement of chasing down 219 runs against Delhi Capitals in 2019.

The recently concluded match saw Sunrisers Hyderabad putting up a formidable total of 277 for three against Mumbai Indians. Thanks to notable performances from Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, and Abhishek Sharma, SRH achieved this milestone. In response, MI played a valiant innings and was on track to surpass the record with 182 for three after 14 overs, needing 96 runs off the last six overs. However, MI faltered in the closing overs and fell short by 31 runs, marking their second defeat in the tournament.

The list of highest run chases in the IPL is a testament to the thrilling moments the league has witnessed over the years, with teams pushing the boundaries of what is considered attainable in the game.

Notable teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Deccan Chargers, and Gujarat Titans have all left their mark with memorable high run chases.
