Muñoz Suffers First Earned Runs in Mariners’ Loss to Rangers

SEATTLE, Washington — Andrés Muñoz, a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners, faced his first earned runs of the season on May 30, 2025, during a 12-6 loss against the Texas Rangers that went 10 innings.

Entering the ninth inning, with the Mariners leading 6-3, Muñoz aimed to secure his 18th save of the year. However, he struggled, allowing Texas to tie the game by giving up three runs.

With two outs, Muñoz surrendered a two-run home run to Willi Castro. Soon after, Trevor Larnach hit a single that contributed to the comeback, tying the game at 6-6. In total, Muñoz allowed four hits, issued two strikeouts, and finished the game with an impressive earned run average (ERA) of 1.09.

Casey Legumina took the mound for the Mariners in the tenth inning but incurred the loss after yielding six runs. Meanwhile, Randy Arozarena, another player for Seattle, hit a solo home run in the first inning.
