Dominik Mysterio Versus Penta Backlash

St. Louis, Missouri – A new title match has been added to the lineup for WWE Backlash on May 10 as Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is set to defend his title against Penta. The announcement came during Monday’s episode of Raw, escalating the ongoing rivalry between the two wrestlers.

Mysterio and Penta previously clashed in a four-way match at WrestleMania 41, where Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship. The feud heated up on the Raw following WrestleMania when Mysterio managed to retain his title against Penta, thanks to interference from outside forces.

This week on Raw, Penta faced McDonagh and emerged victorious, earning a shot at Mysterio’s title. Later this week, Mysterio expressed concerns about facing Penta again, recalling a past injury he suffered during a match with another competitor.

Backlash will feature five confirmed matches, with the pre-show beginning at 5 p.m. Eastern Time and the main card starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Alongside the Intercontinental Championship match, the event will showcase several high-profile bouts, including Becky Lynch challenging for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria.

The energy surrounding the Backlash event is amplified by its location in Orton’s hometown, set to draw an electric crowd. Fans anticipate a thrilling atmosphere as two legends of the ring, John Cena and Randy Orton, will compete for the Undisputed WWE Championship in what will likely be their last match together.

As WWE prepares for a packed evening of action, the storyline developments leading up to Backlash signal ripe opportunities for rivalries to continue.
