Nascar Race At Talladega Superspeedway

TALLADEGA, Alabama — Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch shared frustrations about the sport’s leadership at a recent press conference. On Saturday, Busch addressed reporters at Talladega, voicing his disappointment over how NASCAR officials have failed to consider his suggestions regarding the performance of the Gen 7 car.

“It drives OK,” Busch said, commenting on the car’s handling. He explained that changes to rear-end rules have improved tire performance on the track but expressed concern about the overall racing experience. “The cadence of the race isn’t very good. That’s not very fun. It’s really hard to get runs or any sort of separation,” he added. Busch emphasized that the current fuel-saving strategies and shorter pit stops have diminished competitive dynamics.

This isn’t the first time in 2025 that Busch has openly expressed feeling ignored by NASCAR. Earlier in March, at Circuit of the Americas, he discussed a new Playoff Committee formed to review potential changes for the 2026 season. “I guess there’s five or six or eight or ten — I don’t even know how many committees there are, but nobody calls me to be on any of them,” he said sarcastically. “So, I feel real honored with that and look forward to hearing what their changes are.”

The Cup Series will resume its season on Sunday at Talladega. Coverage of the race begins at 3 p.m. ET on Fox.
