Al Ahsa, Saudi ArabiaCristiano Ronaldo and his team, Al Nassr, received a surprising boost that keeps their hopes alive for qualification to next season’s Asian Champions League. A crucial decision made at the last minute has granted them three additional points ahead of the final league matches on Monday.

Al Nassr successfully argued before the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center that Al Orobah‘s goalkeeper, Rafi Al Ruwaili, was not correctly registered to play during their previous match on Matchday 23. This match ended in a 2-1 defeat for Al Nassr.

Initially, the case was closed due to insufficient evidence, but Al Nassr’s appeal prompted a review of the situation. With the newly awarded points, Al Nassr now stands at 70 points, just two points behind Al Hilal, who currently holds a coveted Champions Elite spot.

Al Qadsiah, currently in fourth place, has 68 points, making the upcoming matchday crucial for all teams involved. Al Hilal, sitting second with 72 points, faces Al Qadsiah in a match that could secure them entry into the Champions League, alongside Al Ittihad, the Saudi league champions, and Al Ahli, the 2025 Asian Champions League winners.

Ronaldo’s team must win their away match against Al Fateh, currently ranked 12th, while hoping for a slip-up from Al Hilal. Despite the pressure, Ronaldo remains optimistic about their chances. “We still believe it’s possible to qualify for the Champions League,” he said, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and determination in the upcoming matches.

With everything on the line, Al Nassr’s fate hangs in the balance as the league reaches its thrilling conclusion.
