Al-Nassr Secures Second Consecutive Saudi Women’s Premier League Title
Al-Nassr, the reigning champions of the Saudi Women’s Premier League, clinched their second consecutive title by defeating rivals Al-Hilal in a thrilling encounter.
Lina Boussaha’s Al-Nassr squad outshined competition from Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, securing the trophy in Riyadh after a season of remarkable performances.
The league showcased international talents like Ashleigh Plumptre and Salma Amani, with Al-Nassr’s blend of foreign stars and Saudi national team players proving effective throughout the campaign.
Al-Hilal, last season’s runners-up, alongside Al-Ittihad, provided tough competition in the eight-team league, which also featured teams like Al-Shabab, Eastern Flames, Al-Riyadh, Al-Qadisiyah, and Al-Ahli.
The pivotal match that sealed Al-Nassr’s title saw the home side triumph 4-2 over Al-Hilal, with goals from players such as Clara Luvanga, Sarah Al-Hamad, Mavis Owusu, Mbaraka Al-Sayari, and Lina Boussaha.
Al-Nassr’s victory extended their lead to 14 points over Al-Hilal, guaranteeing the title with three matches remaining in the season.
