Al Nassr Secures Second Consecutive Saudi Women's Premier League Title

Al-Nassr, the reigning champions of the Saudi Women’s Premier League, clinched their second consecutive title by defeating rivals Al-Hilal in a thrilling encounter.

Lina Boussaha’s Al-Nassr squad outshined competition from Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, securing the trophy in Riyadh after a season of remarkable performances.

The league showcased international talents like Ashleigh Plumptre and Salma Amani, with Al-Nassr’s blend of foreign stars and Saudi national team players proving effective throughout the campaign.

Al-Hilal, last season’s runners-up, alongside Al-Ittihad, provided tough competition in the eight-team league, which also featured teams like Al-Shabab, Eastern Flames, Al-Riyadh, Al-Qadisiyah, and Al-Ahli.

The pivotal match that sealed Al-Nassr’s title saw the home side triumph 4-2 over Al-Hilal, with goals from players such as Clara Luvanga, Sarah Al-Hamad, Mavis Owusu, Mbaraka Al-Sayari, and Lina Boussaha.

Al-Nassr’s victory extended their lead to 14 points over Al-Hilal, guaranteeing the title with three matches remaining in the season.

Notable transfers during the season included signings like Ashleigh Plumptre by Al-Ittihad, underscoring the league’s attraction for international talents.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation highlighted the participation of 54 foreign players from 24 countries in the league, emphasizing its growth and potential.
