TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Natasha Howard, a Florida State women’s basketball alum, will have her jersey retired on Nov. 16, following the game against Indiana at 5 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

FSU head coach expressed pride in Howard’s achievements, stating, “Natasha Howard is one of the greatest to ever wear Garnet and Gold. She gave everything she had to this program, and she’s continued to make us proud every step of the way.”

Howard, a native of Toledo, Ohio, played for Florida State from 2011 to 2014. During her time at FSU, she earned two All-ACC First Team selections in 2013 and 2014 and was named to the All-Defensive team in 2012 and 2014.

She finished her career with 1,811 points, averaging 14.0 points per game across 129 games. Howard currently holds school records for career rebounds (1,047) and double-doubles (41), although the double-doubles record was recently broken.

As a freshman, Howard made the ACC All-Freshman Team and was recognized as a Full Court Press Third Team Freshman All-American. She started all 32 games, averaging 10.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

In her senior year, she scored 675 points, averaging 20.5 points per game, and was named an All-America honorable mention by the AP and WBCA. She set the record for most points in a game with 40 against Syracuse.

Following her college career, Howard was drafted fifth overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2014 WNBA draft. After 11 years in the league, she has had a decorated career, including being a three-time WNBA Champion and a two-time All-Star.

As of the end of the 2025 WNBA season, Howard averages 11.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She played a pivotal role in leading the Indiana Fever to the playoffs, starting all games and shooting 55 percent from the floor.

Howard’s accolades also include being the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 and a two-time EuroLeague Champion, leading her overseas teams to significant victories.

She will become the fifth player in FSU history to have her jersey retired, joining other notable players like Sue Galkantas and Wanda Burns. Tickets for the ceremony and game are on sale at seminoles.com/tickets.

The Seminoles will kick off their season on Nov. 3 against Florida A&M at 6 p.m.
