Brady House Baseball Debut

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Washington Nationals are turning to their top prospect, Brady House, as they face the Colorado Rockies tonight at 6:45 p.m. EDT at Nationals Park. This comes after the team suffered an eight-game losing streak, their worst stretch in two years.

House, a 22-year-old third baseman, is set to make his major league debut. While there are high hopes for his arrival, he is not expected to single-handedly change the team’s fortunes. This season, the Nationals’ third basemen have hit just two home runs, both by Amed Rosario, compared to House’s 13 home runs in 65 games at Triple-A Rochester.

Tonight’s game presents a favorable matchup for House, with the Rockies set to pitch rookie Carson Palmquist, who has struggled with an 0-4 record and a 7.77 ERA in his prior games. The Nationals need to capitalize on this opportunity to end their losing streak and improve their offense.

On the mound for the Nationals, Jake Irvin will look to bounce back from three rough outings where he allowed 13 runs and 23 hits over 15 innings. Irvin previously performed well at Coors Field, where he struck out nine batters and allowed only two runs.

In a series of roster moves, House was promoted alongside outfielder Daylen Lile. To accommodate them, infielder José Tena and outfielder Robert Hassell III were optioned to Rochester. Additionally, first baseman Juan Yepez was designated for assignment after struggling with a .575 OPS at Triple-A.

The Nationals enter this game in dire need of a win to break their losing streak. Fans are hopeful that House’s debut will spark some much-needed energy for the team against the Rockies.
