Nba All Rookie Jared Mccain Votes

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Hours before the Western Conference Finals tipped off, the NBA announced its All-Rookie teams for the 2024-2025 season. The Philadelphia 76ers, despite having three rookies, did not secure a spot on the official All-Rookie team.

Among the Sixers’ rookies, Jared McCain received recognition, earning a single first-place vote, with his total points coming mostly from second-team votes, ranking him sixth among rookies not on the list. McCain’s votes are a positive indicator for the Sixers, especially after his challenging season. The former Duke standout played only 23 games due to a knee injury that required surgery.

During his time on the court, McCain averaged 15 points, shooting 46 percent from the field, alongside two rebounds and three assists per game. His performance positioned him as a front-runner for the Rookie of the Year award before his injury cut his season short.

Another 76ers rookie, Justin Edwards, also garnered attention, landing a vote for the second team. Edwards, initially starting as a two-way player, emerged throughout the season, averaging 10 points per game on 46 percent shooting. He contributed three rebounds, one assist, and one block per game.

While the season didn’t meet the 76ers’ expectations, Edwards’ progress provided a silver lining as he stepped up during a challenging time for the team. His impressive performances came amid injuries to key players, allowing him more opportunities.

The official second-team All-Rookie players included Bub Carrington, Donovan Clingan, Yves Missi, Matas Buzelis, and Kel’el Ware, whereas the first team featured Alex Sarr, Zach Edey, Jaylen Wells, Zaccharie Risacher, and Stephon Castle. This announcement is a reminder of the trials faced by the 76ers during the past season.
