NBA All-Star Voting 2025: Predictions, Format, and How to Vote
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game voting has officially begun, and fans, media, and players are gearing up to select the starters for the highly anticipated event. The 74th NBA All-Star Game is scheduled to take place in San Francisco on Sunday, February 16, 2025, with a new and exciting format. This year, the 24 NBA All-Stars will be divided into three teams, along with the winning team from the Rising Stars Game, to compete in a mini-tournament.
The selection process for the All-Star starters remains unchanged, with the fan vote accounting for 50% of the total, and the media and NBA player votes each contributing 25%. The reserves will be selected by NBA head coaches.
Predictions for the Western Conference starters include Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the guards, with Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Nikola Jokic in the frontcourt. Despite some defensive struggles, LeBron James is expected to make the cut due to his impressive averages of 22.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game. Nikola Jokic is a strong contender, given his consistent high performance.
In the Eastern Conference, Donovan Mitchell and Trae Young are predicted to start as guards. Mitchell’s strong performance this season, which has helped the Cleveland Cavaliers to a historic start, makes him a likely candidate. Trae Young, known for his league-leading assists and flashy playmaking, is also expected to return to the All-Star starting lineup. The frontcourt is predicted to include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns, who has never started in an All-Star Game before, has been impressive in his new role with the New York Knicks, scoring efficiently and dominating the boards.
Fans can vote for their favorite players through NBA.com or the NBA app until January 20, 2025. The voting period allows fans to cast their votes daily, increasing the chances of their preferred players making the All-Star roster.
