NBA Partners with AWS for AI Basketball Insights
New York, NY — The NBA has entered a multi-year partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance fan engagement through innovative technology. The collaboration will introduce a new basketball intelligence platform called NBA Inside the Game, aimed at providing AI-powered statistics for fans starting in 2025.
This platform will allow fans to explore in-depth statistics related to teams and players, integrated across various NBA digital channels, including NBA.com and the NBA App. Ken DeGennaro, NBA’s executive vice president and Head of Media Operations and Technology, expressed excitement about the potential impact of the partnership: “Partnering with AWS provides us with an opportunity to elevate the live game experience through innovation,” he said.
As part of the agreement, AWS will become the official cloud and AI partner of the NBA and its associated leagues, like the WNBA and NBA G League. This is set to facilitate enhancements in live broadcasts and deepen fans’ understanding of the game.
In another development, Prime Video will exclusively stream 66 regular-season NBA games beginning in 2025, including major events such as the NBA Playoffs and the Emirates NBA Cup. This marks a significant shift for basketball broadcasting, as fans will have access to games on a global scale.
The NBA Inside the Game platform promises to revolutionize basketball viewing by providing fans with unique statistical insights, leveraging AWS’s advanced capabilities. This initiative underscores the NBA’s commitment to using technology to improve fan experiences.
The new tools and insights provided through the partnership are expected to transform how fans engage with basketball, blending traditional viewing with cutting-edge technology.
