NBA Players and Coaches of the Month for March Announced

OKLAHOMA CITY, April 1, 2025 — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Coby White of the Chicago Bulls have earned the titles of Kia NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for their remarkable performances in March.
Gilgeous-Alexander dominated the scoring charts, leading the NBA with an average of 34.7 points per game as he guided the Thunder to a league-best 15-1 record in March, including a flawless road performance of 7-0. In addition to his scoring, he averaged 7.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.14 steals.
“Your NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for March: SGA ,” the Thunder posted on social media, highlighting Gilgeous-Alexander’s outstanding month.
White achieved notable success as well, averaging 27.7 points—ranking ninth in the league—with 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He strung together a career-long streak of 15 consecutive games scoring 20 or more points. White’s month peaked with a memorable performance on March 6, recording five rebounds and two steals, and culminated in a double-double on March 29 with 25 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.

The accolades continued as Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors and Dyson Daniels of the Atlanta Hawks were named Kia NBA Defensive Players of the Month. Green’s average of 1.9 steals placed him third in the Western Conference, and his contributions helped the Warriors secure the fourth-best defensive rating in the league at 109.7.
“A defensive mastermind. Draymond Green is the Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month,” the Warriors celebrated on Twitter.
Daniels, dubbed “The Great Barrier Thief,” was exceptional in March, finishing with a league-best 46 steals and leading the NBA in several defensive categories including 3.3 steals, 5.4 deflections, and 3.1 forced turnovers. He also made history by becoming the youngest player since the 1973-74 season to reach 200 steals in a single season at just 22 years old.
“Someone hand this man the DPOY and MIP awards right now,” the Hawks tweeted in recognition of Daniels’ impressive feats.
Rookies were also celebrated, with Stephon Castle of the Spurs and Zaccharie Risacher of the Hawks earning the Kia NBA Rookies of the Month honors. Castle averaged 19.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, joining a unique group of Spurs players with multiple Rookie awards this season.

Risacher averaged 16.3 points, marking his best scoring month of the season, and securing back-to-back Rookie of the Month awards as the only player to achieve this distinction.

Mark Daigneault of the Thunder and Joe Mazzulla of the Celtics were recognized as Kia NBA Coaches of the Month. Daigneault earned his third career award by leading the Thunder to the best record in the NBA for March, scoring an average of 126 points per game.

Mazzulla guided the Celtics to a remarkable 14-1 record, demonstrating stellar defensive play and achieving a franchise first by going 6-0 on a road trip.
