2024 NCAA Volleyball Tournament: Bracket, Schedule, and Top Contenders
The 2024 NCAA volleyball tournament is set to kick off, marking one of the most anticipated events in collegiate sports. The tournament, often referred to as the “Race for the Roses,” will feature a field of 64 teams competing for the national championship. The selection committee will announce the bracket on Sunday, December 1, determining which teams will receive automatic bids and at-large bids. Of the 64 teams, 31 will qualify automatically by winning their conference championships, while the remaining 33 will be granted at-large bids.
Top contenders for the tournament include defending champions Texas, who are seeking to win their third consecutive national title after defeating Nebraska in last year’s final. Other powerhouses like Pittsburgh, Nebraska, and Penn State are also expected to make strong runs in the tournament. The first and second rounds will be hosted by the top 16 teams at their respective campuses, with the winners advancing to the regional matches. These regional matches will be hosted by the top four teams in the tournament, following a single-elimination format.
The national semifinals and championship match will take place at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, December 19, with the national championship game set for Sunday, December 22. Fans can watch the semifinals on ESPN and the championship game on ABC, both of which will also be available on Fubo.
Tickets for the 2024 NCAA volleyball Final Four in Louisville are currently available for purchase on StubHub. The tournament schedule includes the first and second rounds from December 5-7, regionals from December 12-15, and the semifinals and final on December 19 and 22, respectively.
The automatic qualifiers for the tournament have already been determined through conference championships. Teams like New Hampshire (America East), Pittsburgh (ACC), and Penn State (Big Ten) have secured their spots in the tournament. A full list of automatic qualifiers and their conference championships can be found on the NCAA website.
