The highly anticipated series “NCIS: Origins” is set to premiere on Monday, October 14, on CBS. Fans of the original “NCIS” series are eager to delve into the backstory of one of television’s favorite characters, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Mark Harmon. The latest installment will explore previously undisclosed events from Gibbs’ past.

“NCIS: Origins,” the fifth spinoff of the “NCIS” franchise, opens with a special two-hour episode airing at 9 p.m. following the debut of the new season of “NCIS.” Following its premiere, “NCIS: Origins” will move to a regular 10 p.m. Monday slot.
