Nebraska Football Tunnel Tradition

Nebraska football has embraced a new tradition since 2004, enhancing the experience for both players and fans at Memorial Stadium. The team arrives at the stadium two hours and 15 minutes prior to each home game, greeted by a passionate crowd of supporters.

This tradition involves fans forming a tunnel for the players to walk through, which stretches all the way to the South Stadium locker room. The atmosphere is charged with excitement as players step off the bus and enter the tunnel of red-clad supporters.

Freshman running back Brandon Jackson expressed his amazement at the sight, stating, ‘I couldn’t believe my people were there waiting for us and it was cool.’ The overwhelming support from fans serves as a motivator for the team, making the experience unforgettable.

Husker fans, known for their dedication and enthusiasm, have showcased their allegiance and love for the players through this heartwarming tradition. It solidifies the bond between the team and its supporters, creating an uplifting environment before each game.

Since its inception, the Walk has become an integral part of Nebraska football culture, further demonstrating the commitment of Husker fans to their team.
