EAST LANSING, Mich. – The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team continued its dominant streak by sweeping Michigan State with scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-20 on Friday night. The match took place in front of a school record crowd of 11,578 at the Breslin Center.

Outside hitter Nicklin Hames led the charge with 13 kills, achieving a hitting percentage of .500. This performance helped Nebraska (17-0, 7-0 B1G) record a team hitting percentage of .383. Murray, in her last two matches, has an impressive hitting percentage of .569 without any errors.

In her milestone achievement, Murray became the 25th Husker to reach 1,000 career kills. Her 12th kill of the match propelled her past this significant marker.

Other key players included Ally Batenhorst, who logged eight kills, and Hayley Densberger, who contributed seven kills and three blocks. Additionally, Nicklin Hames added six kills and five blocks, while Gina Mancuso recorded five kills and four blocks.

Nebraska served a season-high nine aces and made just four errors. Hames and Densberger each contributed three aces. The Huskers’ strong defensive performance included nine blocks compared to Michigan State’s four and a 30-23 edge in digs.

On the Michigan State side, the Spartans (14-3, 4-3 B1G) struggled offensively, hitting only .209 for the match. Nebraska’s victory marks their 25th consecutive set won and improves their Big Ten Discover Challenge record to 3-0, with two matches remaining against Northwestern on Oct. 24 and at Wisconsin on Oct. 31.

The match unfolded with Nebraska winning the first set strongly, hitting an impressive .636. In the second set, they launched a 7-0 run, laying the groundwork for their victory. The third set saw Nebraska fend off a late push from Michigan State to finish the match with another solid performance.

Nebraska is set to face Michigan next on Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT) at the sold-out Crisler Center.
