Nebraska Vs Wisconsin Women's Basketball 2025

LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska women’s basketball team returns to Pinnacle Bank Arena on Monday night, riding a four-game winning streak as they prepare to face the Wisconsin Badgers. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT, with the Huskers looking to extend their dominance over Wisconsin, which has not won in Lincoln since Nebraska joined the Big Ten in 2011.

Nebraska (14-4, 5-2 Big Ten) comes off a thrilling 87-84 overtime victory at Iowa on Thursday, marking their first win in Iowa City since 2018. Freshman standout Britt Prince led the charge with 22 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high six steals, while three-time All-Big Ten center Alexis Markowski added 19 points and seven boards. The Huskers overcame a 64-53 fourth-quarter deficit to secure the win.

Wisconsin (10-8, 1-6 Big Ten) enters the game on a six-game losing streak, including a recent 80-69 loss to No. 9 Ohio State. The Badgers are led by junior forward Serah Williams, who averages 18.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game. Despite their struggles, Wisconsin brings its most competitive team to Lincoln in over a decade.

Nebraska holds a commanding 16-7 series lead over Wisconsin, including an eight-game winning streak. The Huskers are 9-0 at home against the Badgers since joining the Big Ten, with their last meeting at Pinnacle Bank Arena resulting in an 82-54 victory in December 2022.

Monday’s game will feature several key storylines, including Markowski’s pursuit of Nebraska’s all-time rebounding record. With 1,105 career rebounds, she needs just five more to surpass Jordan Hooper for third place on the Huskers’ career list. Markowski is also closing in on the 1,600-point, 1,100-rebound milestone, a feat achieved by only two other Nebraska players.

Freshman Britt Prince continues to shine for the Huskers, averaging 13.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and team-highs of 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals. Her performance at Iowa, which included a game-tying three-pointer and clutch free throws, solidified her status as one of the Big Ten’s top freshmen.

Wisconsin’s Serah Williams poses a significant challenge for Nebraska’s defense. The 6-foot-4 forward has been a force in the paint, recording 20 points and 17 rebounds in the loss to Ohio State. The Badgers will also rely on graduate guard Natalie Leuzinger, who shoots 40.4% from three-point range, and sophomore center Carter McCray, a transfer from Northern Kentucky averaging 9.5 points and 6.8 rebounds.

Nebraska’s depth has been a key factor in their recent success, with five players scoring in double figures in the win over Iowa. The Huskers have also overcome adversity, including season-ending injuries to Natalie Potts and Allison Weidner, to remain competitive in the Big Ten.

Monday’s game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network and the Fox Sports App, with radio coverage available on the Huskers Radio Network. Nebraska fans can also follow the action on Huskers.com and the Huskers App.
