Neet Pg 2024 Exam Postponed Amid Allegations Of Irregularities

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Post-Graduate (PG) 2024 examination in light of recent allegations of irregularities in competitive exams. Dr. Rakesh Sharma, a key member of NBEMS, has assured the public of a transparent and secure examination process amidst the postponement.

Emphasizing the significance of conducting NEET PG 2024 through a computer-based test (CBT) mode nationwide, Dr. Sharma highlighted the robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put in place by NBEMS to maintain the confidentiality of question papers and prevent any leaks.

With the cooperation of various stakeholders such as medical colleges, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), and concerned entities, NBEMS aims to ensure a smooth and secure examination process for the aspiring medical professionals.

The NEET-PG 2024 exam was set to take place in 292 cities with a total of 228,757 candidates, including a diverse representation of female, male, transgender, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Non-OCI, and NRI candidates.

In a bid to strengthen surveillance and uphold exam integrity, NBEMS has instituted a flying squad comprising important personnel from universities, National Medical Commission (NMC), accredited Institutes, and the Governing Body. These members of the flying squad will oversee exam centers, promptly reporting any security breaches or misconduct observed.

In addition, NBEMS will establish a command center at its headquarters along with regional and monitoring centers to ensure continuous supervision of test centers. Candidates are urged to arrive at the examination hall well in advance of the scheduled time to facilitate a seamless examination process.

Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has faced scrutiny for alleged irregularities in this year’s National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) and NET exams, prompting protests nationwide and calls for the disbanding of the NTA.
