Netflix’s New Mystery Series Promises Twists and Thrills

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Netflix is set to premiere its latest mystery series, “I Will Find You,” based on Harlan Coben’s 2023 novel of the same name. The eight-part series follows David Burroughs, portrayed by Sam Worthington, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his son. As the plot unfolds, David learns that he may actually be innocent and that his son might still be alive, prompting a desperate quest for the truth.
The narrative begins with David’s harrowing confession from behind bars, only to receive shocking news that forces him to escape and delve into a world filled with deceit and despair. “This is a story about a father’s love and the lengths a parent will go to find the truth,” Worthington said in a recent interview.
Alongside Worthington, the series features a talented cast, including Britt Lower as Rachel Mills, David’s ex-sister-in-law and a former journalist seeking redemption. Rachel stumbles upon new evidence that could change everything, igniting her determination to uncover the truth surrounding David’s case. “It’s a riveting opportunity for Rachel to reclaim her career and make sense of her failures,” Lower remarked.
“I Will Find You” marks a significant milestone as the first Coben series to be set in the U.S. under his partnership with Netflix, following successful adaptations such as “Missing You” and “Stay Close.” Coben himself takes on the role of executive producer and is confident that the show will resonate with fans. “We have assembled a dream team of talent for this production,” Coben said.
The twists and suspense that characterize Coben’s writing are expected to translate effectively onto the screen. The author, praised for his compelling plotting and intricate storylines, has received critical acclaim for the book since its release earlier this year. Critics have hailed “I Will Find You” as “one of his best yet” and noted its bewildering twists that keep readers guessing until the very end.
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the series, but fans are eagerly awaiting its debut later this year. Until then, viewers can explore previous Coben adaptations available on the platform. Stay tuned for updates regarding the release date and additional details about the show.
