Tires Netflix Season Two Cast Creative Partners

LOS ANGELES, CA — The highly anticipated second season of the comedy series “Tires” premiered today, June 5, 2025. Co-creators Shane Gillis and John McKeever are excited to roll out a season that promises to build on the show’s unique blend of humor and relatable storylines.

Gillis, a prominent stand-up comedian and podcast host, is not just the face of the show; he was also pivotal in its creation, having invested his own money to construct the show’s set at his partner’s family tire shop in Westchester, Pennsylvania. The series started as a 10-minute pilot before being picked up by Quibi, which faced its own challenges, lasting only six months.

The simplicity of their production setup remains a key focus. “It was famously inexpensive to make. Outside of a found-footage documentary, I feel like this is about as cheap as it gets,” Gillis remarked during a recent interview.

Season two promises more depth and complexity in its narratives. Gillis described the first season as a long cold open, focusing on establishing tone and characters. McKeever added, “We really treated season two like a season one.”

Fans will notice the shift in resources, as Gillis expressed gratitude for having Netflix‘s backing this time, which differs greatly from the first season produced on a shoestring budget.

“In the writing process, we really focus on being careful about what we say and how we handle sensitive topics,” Gillis explained. Both creators emphasize the importance of understanding boundaries, ensuring they do not cross the line into meanness.

As for their individual growth, both Gillis and McKeever have found their paths intertwining creatively while navigating their careers. “I wanted to act. I’m just trying to separate myself from the character,” Gillis shared.

Alongside the humorous elements, the show also touches on current societal issues. The first episode of the new season features a bold storyline involving a gun at work, highlighting the creators’ willingness to tackle controversial subjects.

Fans can catch the series now on Netflix, and the creators are hopeful that this season resonates even more than the last.
