The Netherlands wrapped up their Euro 2024 preparations in style as they comfortably defeated Iceland 4-0 in a friendly match at the Feyenoord Stadium. The Dutch, under the guidance of Ronald Koeman, put on a clinical display with goals from Xavi Simons, Virgil van Dijk, Donyell Malen, and Wout Weghorst.

Xavi Simons opened the scoring for the Oranje after a superb combination play between Joey Veerman and Denzel Dumfries in the first half. Captain Virgil van Dijk added a second goal shortly after halftime, before substitutes Malen and Weghorst sealed the victory with their goals.

The hosts controlled the game from start to finish, outclassing their opponents with a dominant performance. With the Euro 2024 campaign looming, the Dutch side appears to be in prime form, winning six of their last seven matches.

Frenkie de Jong‘s absence did not hinder the Netherlands, as Veerman stepped up in midfield with an impressive performance. The PSV Eindhoven midfielder showcased his quality with excellent passing, tackles, and creating chances throughout the match.

France will now brace themselves for a tough challenge when they face the rejuvenated Dutch team in Group D of the Euro 2024 competition. The likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Micky van de Ven also made notable contributions off the bench for Koeman‘s side.
