Neve Campbell Reprises Role in Seventh ‘Scream’ Film After Salary Dispute
Actress Neve Campbell, known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the ‘Scream‘ franchise, will be returning to the series for the seventh installment following a salary dispute that led to her absence in the sixth film.
Campbell took to Instagram to share the exciting news with fans, expressing her joy at reprising her iconic character under the direction of franchise creator Kevin Williamson for ‘Scream 7’.
The actress had initially declined to appear in ‘Scream VI’ due to a pay disagreement but is now set to make a comeback alongside Williamson, who will also be directing the upcoming film.
‘Scream 7’ will mark a reunion between Campbell and Williamson, with the actress expressing her admiration for Williamson’s creative vision and close friendship over the years.
In a recent turn of events, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who featured in the previous ‘Scream’ installments, will not be returning for the seventh movie.
Barrera was reportedly let go from the project following comments she made on social media regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, while Ortega cited scheduling conflicts with her commitments to Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ series.
The new film will see a change in directors, with Kevin Williamson taking over from Christopher Landon and collaborating with Guy Busick and James Vanderbilt on the script for ‘Scream VII’.
