New England Revolution II’s JD Gunn Joins Panama National Team for Friendly
PANAMA CITY, Panama — New England Revolution II goalkeeper JD Gunn has been named to the Panama National Team roster for an upcoming friendly against Peru Liga 1 side Universitario. The match is scheduled for January 24 at Estadio Monumental in Lima, Peru.
Gunn, a Panama City native, ended his first season with New England Revolution II with 18 appearances, allowing 38 goals and making 73 saves. His performance has earned him a third call-up to the national team. Previously, he joined Panama for friendlies against the United States and Canada in October, followed by Concacaf Nations League matches against Costa Rica in November.
“It’s always an honor to represent my country,” Gunn said in a statement. “I’m excited for the opportunity to contribute to the team and continue growing as a player.”
The upcoming friendly against Universitario will be a chance for Gunn to make his first appearance for Panama. The match kicks off at 8:30 PM local time and will be a key test for the national team as they prepare for future competitions.
Gunn’s inclusion in the roster highlights his rising profile in international soccer. His consistent performances in the United Soccer League (USL) have not gone unnoticed, and his return to the international stage could pave the way for more opportunities with the Panama National Team.
