New Threats Investigated Against Missing Girl’s Family

LEICESTER, England — Leicestershire Police are investigating reported threats to the safety of the family of missing girl Madeleine McCann following a warning about a man in his twenties described as a significant danger.
Dr. Fia Johansson, a psychologist and medium based in Orange County, California, reported the information to the police last week after receiving what she termed credible concerns about the individual. Dr. Johansson stated, “He is aware of the McCann family’s address and is planning to fly to the UK. I have serious concerns about this individual and his intent, so I have passed all my information to the police.”
A spokesperson from Leicestershire Police confirmed the report, stating, “On Wednesday, police were contacted by an individual concerning an ongoing stalking investigation. Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the report, and contact has been made with the person concerned.”
In a related case, a 23-year-old Polish woman, Julia Wandelt, has been charged with four counts of stalking Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, as well as stalking Madeleine’s siblings, Amelia and Sean. Wandelt is accused of causing serious alarm or distress against the couple from May 2, 2024, to February 15, 2025.
Wandelt, who has publicly claimed various identities, was remanded into custody pending a hearing at Leicester Crown Court on April 7. Her representative, Surjit Singh Claire, stated on Instagram that Wandelt denies the charges and plans to plead not guilty.
Madeleine McCann, who would now be 21 years old, disappeared during a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, when she was just three years old. Despite a lengthy investigation and widespread media coverage, there has been no trace of her since, and no one has been formally charged.
Authorities in Germany previously identified Christian B as a prime suspect in the ongoing investigation, but they have yet to secure any additional charges against him.
