New York City Fc Vs New England Revolution Match

NEW YORK, NY — Major League Soccer’s New York City FC (NYCFC) faces the New England Revolution this Saturday at Yankee Stadium, in a critical early-season clash. Both teams are searching for momentum as they seek their first victory of the 2025 campaign.

NYCFC finally secured a win last weekend with a 2-1 triumph over Orlando City after a tough start. After firing nine shots on goal, they’re looking to build on this newfound success. This match marks the first regular-season victory for head coach Nick Cushing, who has seen his team score three of their total goals in the second halves of matches this season.

The Pigeons will look to extend their home unbeaten streak to four matches, having won their last two encounters at Red Bull Arena and suffering only one defeat at Yankee Stadium last season. With a record of three winless matches against the Revs, NYCFC will aim to end the streak.

Meanwhile, the Revolution have stumbled out of the gate, going winless in their first three matches of the season. After being defeated 2-0 by the Philadelphia Union last weekend, the Revs sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Coach Bruce Arena‘s squad has struggled offensively, failing to score a goal this season. The loss of key players, including top scorers from last year, has hampered their attack.

“We’ve made some bold moves, and we believe in our new signings,” Arena remarked. “But we need to find our scoring touch. Without goals, it’s hard to achieve what we want.”

The Revs last won against NYCFC in October 2020, setting the stage for a challenging matchup on the road. They have not come away with a single point in their last seven away contests and are the only team in MLS yet to find the back of the net this season.

Injuries may also play a critical role in the match. NYCFC will be without left-back Santiago Rodriguez, who received two yellow cards last week. The Revs are expected to miss forward Giacomo Vrioni due to injury, further complicating their scoring woes.

Expectations are high for this heated New York-Boston rivalry, as both teams aim to turn their seasons around. The match kicks off Saturday at 11:30 p.m. UK time in New York.
