According to data released by StubHub, the quintessential marketplace for ticket sales, the Knicks are the most sought-after team for the upcoming season, reflecting a significant 48% increase in season sales compared to the previous year.

Last season, the Knicks secured the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference but faced setbacks due to untimely injuries. Despite this, they remain a formidable team and have further solidified their roster with strategic acquisitions, including Mikal Bridges. The Knicks made headlines last week with a major trade, exchanging Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo for a four-time unnamed star, bolstering their squad’s depth and experience.

“The Knicks’ impressive young roster, led by Jalen Brunson and strengthened by recent key roster moves, has led to a resurgence of fan excitement that has propelled them to be the season’s most in-demand team,” stated Adam Budelli, a spokesperson for StubHub.

The team’s popularity is not limited to their home games at Madison Square Garden, dubbed the world’s most famous arena. Information from StubHub indicates that the Knicks are at the center of six out of the ten best-selling games this season, including a highly anticipated opening match against the Indiana Pacers.

International demand for the NBA is also on the rise, with ticket purchases originating from 127 countries, marking a 40% increase compared to last year. This surge is partly fueled by the recent excitement surrounding basketball at the Olympics, particularly with Team USA’s performance, contributing to heightened interest from international travelers visiting the United States.

The reigning champions, Boston Celtics, rank second in StubHub’s pre-season demand, with nearly double the sales compared to last season. Additionally, the Minnesota Timberwolves have recorded the highest growth in ticket sales across the league.
