Next Gen Stats Reveals Day 2 and Day 3 NFL Draft Prospects

Indianapolis, IN – Next Gen Stats has unveiled its predictions for standout players in the upcoming NFL Draft. Using data and machine learning models, the analysis focuses on potential Day 2 and Day 3 talents based on performance from past seasons.
This marks the sixth year of utilizing the Next Gen Stats Draft Model to highlight players. Since 2003, the model has been trained on various draft classes to identify traits and characteristics suitable for the next level. Of the eight players highlighted last year, seven proved significant contributors during the 2024 NFL season.
Notable Day 2 contributors from last year’s predictions included C for the Raiders, who logged 906 offensive snaps; DT for the Rams, with 626 defensive snaps; LB for the Steelers, totaling 464 defensive and 298 special teams snaps; and WR for the Broncos, contributing 365 offensive snaps. Additionally, among Day 3 hidden gems, T for the Commanders had 747 offensive snaps, while G for the Colts and RB for the 49ers also made notable impacts.
This year, several names emerged as promising prospects. Notably, Missouri‘s WR, Luther Burden, is forecasted as a key Day 2 candidate. With his outstanding YAC ability and versatility, Burden accumulated 192 receptions for 2,263 yards and 21 touchdowns across three seasons. His performance at the NFL Scouting Combine showcased his speed with a 4.41-second 40-yard dash.
Georgia‘s OG, Tate Ratledge, tops the list for interior offensive linemen with a powerful 4.97-second 40-yard dash and strong performance metrics throughout his career. With 36 career starts at right guard, he’s noted for his athleticism and experience.
Also highlighted is Bowling Green‘s TE, who dominated with 117 receptions in 2024, establishing FBS single-season records for tight ends. His agility and performance at the Combine emphasized his potential as a Day 2 asset.
Furthermore, Wilson, a C from Georgia, made headlines with the fastest 40-yard dash time among offensive linemen during the Combine. He recorded an impressive top speed, raising his draft stock significantly. These athletes will be watched closely as the draft approaches.
