SANTOS, Brazil — Santos FC announced two new sponsorship deals on Wednesday, coinciding with the highly anticipated return of Neymar to the club. The Brazilian soccer star is set to re-debut in a match against Botafogo-SP in the Campeonato Paulista, marking his first appearance for Santos in 12 years.
The retail giant Havan will feature its logo on the front of Santos’ jerseys, replacing a previous sponsor whose three-year contract expired last year. The new deal, initially set for one year, comes as Santos aims to strengthen its financial position. The club did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement, but the previous sponsorship brought in $10 million (approximately R$57.9 million) over three years.
In addition to Havan, Loovi Seguros has signed a two-year sponsorship deal, with its branding appearing on the players’ jersey numbers across the men’s, women’s, and youth teams. The partnership also includes exclusive benefits for club members and potential joint promotional activities.
Santos President Marcelo Teixeira expressed enthusiasm about the new sponsorships. “Havan is synonymous with success, and their association demonstrates confidence in the Santos brand. Together, we will be much stronger,” he said.
Luciano Hang, owner of Havan, called the partnership historic. “It is a great honor to support Santos, one of the most traditional and successful clubs in Brazil. We are very happy with this union and confident that this will be a year of great achievements for the team,” Hang said.
Neymar’s return to Santos has generated significant buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting his performance in the upcoming match. The 33-year-old forward, who began his career at Santos in 2009, is expected to play between 25 and 35 minutes in his re-debut. His comeback could also have implications for Brazil’s national team as the country prepares for future international competitions.
Santos currently boasts sponsors including Blaze, Canção Alimentos, Kicaldo, Placo, Zé Delivery, and Farmácias Nissei. The club’s new partnerships with Havan and Loovi Seguros are expected to bolster its financial stability and enhance its competitive edge in Brazilian soccer.
