2024 NFL All-Pro Team Highlights Top Defensive and Special Teams Stars
The 2024 NFL All-Pro Team, announced Friday, showcased the league’s elite defensive and special teams performers, with standout players like Myles Garrett, T.J. Watt, and Patrick Surtain II earning top honors. The selections, voted on by a panel of 50 media members, highlighted the dominance of defensive stars and the impact of special teams playmakers.
Cleveland Browns‘ Myles Garrett, the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, continued his dominance in 2024, recording 84 total pressures and a league-leading 20.8% pressure rate in one-on-one situations. Cincinnati Bengals‘ T.J. Hendrickson claimed the sack title with 17.5 sacks, while Kansas City Chiefs‘ Chris Jones and Denver Broncos‘ Zach Allen anchored the defensive tackle positions with their versatility and run-stopping prowess.
In the secondary, Denver Broncos’ Patrick Surtain II earned 49 first-team votes, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s premier cornerbacks. Surtain allowed a league-best -0.43 expected points added per target and shadowed top receivers with remarkable success. Houston Texans‘ Derek Stingley Jr. also stood out, allowing just 4.9 yards per target and excelling in deep coverage.
Special teams saw standout performances from Pittsburgh Steelers‘ kicker Chris Boswell, who led the league with 41 field goals made, and Las Vegas Raiders‘ punter A.J. Cole, who averaged a league-best 62.5 yards per punt. Dallas Cowboys‘ KaVontae Turpin dominated kick returns, leading the NFL with 904 return yards, while Denver Broncos’ Marvin Mims Jr. excelled in punt returns, averaging 15.7 yards per return.
The All-Pro Team also recognized breakout performances, including Philadelphia Eagles‘ linebacker Zack Baun, who transitioned to an off-ball role and excelled in coverage, and Atlanta Falcons‘ linebacker Troy Andersen, who led all linebackers with 34 pressures. Baltimore Ravens‘ safety Kyle Hamilton and Detroit Lions‘ safety Kerby Joseph rounded out the defensive selections with their impactful play in the secondary.
