NFL Draft 2025: Expert Selections Spark Anticipation

GREEN BAY, Wis. — As the anticipation builds for the 2025 NFL Draft set for April 24-26, analysts are finalizing their projections for which players could land at the top of the selection order. NFL Media analyst Charles Davis presented his latest mock draft this week, forecasting a mix of trades and player selections that could reshape team rosters heading into the new season.
Davis maintains that the Tennessee Titans will secure the No. 1 overall pick, potentially addressing their need for elite quarterback play. He predicts that the Titans will select Miami quarterback Tyler Ward, who boasts over four years of starting experience and a solid track record at multiple schools, including Incarnate Word and Washington State.
Following closely behind, the Cleveland Browns are projected to choose Penn State edge rusher J.T. Tuimoloau at No. 2. With an eye on bolstering their defensive line, this selection could allow Cleveland to pick up a quarterback later in the draft, underscoring their commitment to a competitive defense.
The Denver Broncos are earmarked for a strategic selection at No. 4, potentially opting for Colorado‘s two-way star, Travis Hunter, who can impact both the offense and defense. According to Davis, Hunter’s ball skills and playmaking ability could make him a dynamic addition to the Patriots’ roster.
Meanwhile, the New York Giants are projected to choose Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 3. Despite recent signings at quarterback, the Giants are looking for a true leader to propel them forward, solidifying an area where they have struggled over the years.
As the draft approaches, teams are also expected to engage in trades that could alter their draft positions and strategies significantly. Most notably, Davis identified impending deals that could see teams jockeying either to move up for a coveted player or down to accumulate more picks.
Among other intriguing picks, the San Francisco 49ers at No. 11 are anticipated to select Marshall defensive end Mike Green to strengthen their pass rush. Davis has not wavered from his forecast, praising Green’s standout performance at the Senior Bowl.
“The Niners are determined to pump up their pass rush,” Davis said. “Green’s performance showed his vast potential.” The focus on defensive strength reflects the trend of teams prioritizing defense early in the draft.
As teams finalize their strategies, an estimated 138 picks will be made during the first rounds across the event. While the exact outcomes are unknown, the excitement surrounding the 2025 NFL Draft is undeniable, with fans and analysts alike eager to see how these projected picks unfold.
