NFL Draft Looms, Jihaad Campbell Projected as First-Round Pick

GREEN BAY, Wisc. — The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on Thursday, with linebacker Jihaad Campbell projected to be a first-round pick. Mock drafts from various analysts indicate that Campbell, a standout at Alabama, could be among the first players selected.
Mel Kiper Jr. ranks Campbell as the first player from Alabama to be drafted this year, sending him to the Philadelphia Eagles, who have a history of selecting SEC talent. Notably, Kiper stated, “The Eagles have had success with Alabama players in recent years.”
Jordan Reid ranks Campbell even higher, potentially sending him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Reid noted that Campbell would be familiar with the environment, having played at Raymond James Stadium during his college career. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), the linebacker class is lean, which could drive the Indianapolis Colts to pick Campbell at 14, given their need for a player in that position.
Other analysts have varying predictions. Josh Edwards projects Campbell to the AFC North. Chad Reuter anticipates that the Atlanta Falcons could draft him, highlighting Campbell’s versatility. Additionally, Eric Edholm of NFL.com places Campbell with the Buccaneers, just after Tyler Booker is expected to be picked by the Seattle Seahawks.
On April 21, Campbell, alongside Jalen Milroe and Tyler Booker, confirmed their attendance at the draft in Green Bay, where the entire event lasts until Saturday. Milroe, also expected to be a top pick, adds intrigue as teams evaluate quarterbacks.
The excitement surrounding Campbell’s potential selection reflects the anticipation among fans and analysts alike, as the NFL Draft approaches.
