Nfl Draft Quarterbacks Prospects 2025

INDIANAPOLIS — The Miami Dolphins are assessing their options for a developmental quarterback during the 2025 NFL Draft, potentially looking to replace current starter Tua Tagovailoa. With a roster in flux, the team is set to evaluate a range of quarterback prospects, including Shedeur Sanders and Jalen Milroe, at the NFL Scouting Combine this Saturday.

While Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders have garnered significant media attention as the top quarterbacks in the 2025 class, other prospects are drawing interest from the Dolphins. Jalen Milroe, a mobile quarterback from Alabama, is noted for his impressive athleticism and potential upside. Having distinguished himself during a challenging 2024 season, Milroe completed the year with 2,834 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, in addition to 879 rushing yards and another 20 touchdowns on the ground.

“We’re all unique in our own way,” Milroe said reflecting on the lineage of elite quarterbacks that have played at Alabama. “It’s hard to compare us, but I respect all of them because I know what it is to be a starting quarterback.”

Alongside Milroe, Dillon Gabriel, Jaxson Dart, and Tyler Shough are also under consideration as potential picks. Each offers distinct qualities, yet opinions vary widely among analysts regarding how they rank within this diverse class. Shough, despite his age—having played for seven years—exhibits maturity and a solid record of performance before injuries hampered his opportunities.

“I haven’t heard any questions about my age,” Shough stated. “I think quarterbacks can perform well into their 30s and improve as they mature.”

The Dolphins are expected to make strategic decisions around their quarterback position due to Tagovailoa’s history of injuries and inconsistent outings. Tagovailoa’s performance statistics showcase 15,760 passing yards and 101 touchdowns, but concerns over his health and ability to handle pressure during critical moments have led to discussions about his future with the team.

Milroe’s dual-threat capability and strong arm make him an attractive option for teams looking to implement a fast-paced offensive style. Last season at Alabama, he demonstrated his ability to make plays while on the move, which complements the Dolphins’ offensive philosophy.

Moreover, the annual combine is a proving ground for these draft hopefuls, with both Ward and Sanders expected to conduct their evaluations while focusing on their passing capabilities. Sanders, whose father is NFL legend Deion Sanders, embraces the scrutiny that comes with his name. “Without the critics, it’s not normal for us,” he said confidently when addressing the pressures he faces as a high-profile prospect.

As the draft approaches, the Dolphins’ strategy remains clouded in speculation, particularly concerning how aggressively they will move to upgrade their quarterback room while droves of talent emerge during the combine workouts. Miami’s draft position and relative needs may dictate their course of action as they aim to solidify their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
