Nfl Draft Green Bay 2025

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The 2025 NFL Draft kicked off Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin, introducing a new wave of talent to the league. The Titans selected quarterback J.J. Ward as the first overall pick, hoping to establish a franchise leader after two consecutive last-place finishes in the AFC South.

Ward, who previously played for Miami, recorded 158 touchdowns in college football, setting a Division 1 record. General manager Ryan Cowden expressed optimism that Ward’s leadership qualities will help the Titans regain their competitive edge.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars made a significant move in the first round by trading up to the second overall pick to grab Travis Hunter, a talented two-way player from Colorado. General manager James Gladstone indicated that Hunter’s versatility will provide the Jaguars with additional firepower on both offense and defense.

In the third spot, the New York Giants selected defensive end Jalen Carter from Penn State, a move aimed at strengthening their defensive line. Carter’s reputation as an elite disruptor makes him a valuable asset for a team looking to revitalize its pass rush.

The Patriots focused on protecting their young quarterback, Drake Maye, by securing offensive tackle Will Campbell with their fourth pick. Maye faced challenges last season due to a shaky offensive line, making Campbell’s selection crucial for his development.

Cleveland, after trading their original pick to Jacksonville, chose defensive tackle Benny Graham from Michigan with the fifth pick. Graham’s quickness and aggressive play style bring immediate value to the Browns’ defensive front.

Las Vegas selected the standout running back Ashton Jeanty from Boise State at sixth overall, while the Jets bolstered their offensive line with Missouri tackle Elie Membou at seventh.

Interest peaked as teams strategized their picks throughout the night, with quarterbacks and defensive stars stealing the spotlight. The draft will continue Friday with rounds two and three at 7 p.m. ET, and all rounds will be broadcast live on ESPN and ABC.
