2025 Nfl Draft Quarterbacks Combine Highlights

INDIANAPOLIS — As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, excitement builds around two standout quarterbacks: Cam Ward from Miami and Shedeur Sanders from Colorado. Both players showcased their skills during the NFL Scouting Combine, where scouts and executives gathered to evaluate potential future stars.

Ward, an All-American, had a remarkable 2024 season, amassing 4,313 passing yards, 39 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 172.2. His performance made him a finalist for the Heisman Trophy as he led the Hurricanes to a 10-3 season, narrowly missing the playoff opportunity. Ward stated, “The tape says everything, I believe, and I’m honest to that,” when discussing his draft potential.

In contrast, Sanders, the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year, is also generating buzz about being the first quarterback drafted. He declared his confidence in his capabilities, saying he is “the best QB in the draft,” as he seeks to be a game-changer for whichever team selects him.

NFL teams are keenly interested in these two quarterbacks, especially with franchises like the Pittsburgh Steelers openly seeking their next franchise player. General Manager Omar Khan has addressed the team’s quarterback situation, stating, “We don’t have a quarterback under contract, so until that happens, all options are on the table.”

The Steelers face a pivotal offseason as they consider their options for a quarterback. With effective salary cap space of $56.9 million, they have the financial flexibility to pursue either a draft option or a trade for an established player. The organization has struggled offensively, failing to score more than 17 points in the final five games of the 2024 season.

Last season, both Wilson and Fields were evaluated, but Khan emphasized that the team cannot afford to settle for mediocrity. “We ended the season with five straight losses,” he said. “That’s not good enough. That’s not acceptable.”

The competition for the top two spots among quarterbacks is heating up, with scouts ranking Ward and Sanders among the best in recent years. If either player slips past the top three picks, the Steelers may look to trade up in the draft.
