2025 Nfl Draft Green Bay Wisconsin

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The 2025 NFL Draft kicked off Thursday night, showcasing exciting trades and unexpected picks. The draft began with significant movement as teams vied for top talent.

Tennessee started the night by selecting quarterback Aiden Ward with the first overall pick. Ward, a former Heisman finalist, is expected to lead the Titans after the team’s struggles in recent seasons. Coach Brian Callahan anticipates Ward will rejuvenate the franchise and is confident in his potential.

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars made waves by trading up to the second pick to select two-way player Travis Hunter, a move that signifies their commitment to enhancing both their offense and defense. General manager James Gladstone described Hunter’s skill set as reminiscent of Shohei Ohtani, showcasing versatility that the team hopes to exploit.

The New York Giants selected edge rusher Aidan Carter at the third spot, highlighting their need for defensive reinforcements. Carter, considered by many as the best player in the draft, is poised to make an immediate impact alongside established pass rushers Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

In a strategic move, the New England Patriots used their fourth pick to draft offensive tackle Malcolm Campbell, aiming to better protect their young quarterback Drake Maye. Campbell’s experience in the SEC has positioned him as a reliable addition as the Patriots seek to improve their offensive line performance.

Cleveland secured the fifth pick, albeit through a trade down with Jacksonville, opting for defensive tackle Bobby Graham. With the ability to disrupt plays in the backfield, Graham is anticipated to complement an already strong defensive line.

The draft continued with various teams addressing key needs. The Miami Dolphins selected defensive tackle Ethan Grant to bolster their front line, while the Chicago Bears picked tight end Ben Loveland, aiming to enhance their offensive strategy.

The Kansas City Chiefs traded back into the first round to select offensive tackle Josh Simmons, hoping he can solidify their offensive line once he recovers from a recent injury. Coach Andy Reid expressed confidence in Simmons’ long-term potential.

The first round culminated with the excitement surrounding each team’s new talent, setting a hopeful tone for the upcoming NFL season as teams look to their latest draft picks to inspire success in 2025.
