NFL Releases 2025 Schedule: Early Home Games for Jaguars, 49ers, and Jets

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The NFL’s 2025 schedule was released Wednesday, unveiling exciting matchups for several teams, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Jets.
The Jaguars will kick off their season at home against the Carolina Panthers on September 7. This marks the first time since 2020 that the team has opened the season at home. Last year, the Jaguars finished strong but need to navigate a tough early schedule, facing multiple playoff teams within their first few games.
Fans will also see a notable player debut as the Jaguars welcome their second-overall draft pick, who is expected to take a significant role early in the season. “We are excited about the prospects this young player brings and how he can change our game,” said Head Coach Doug Pederson.
San Francisco opens its 2025 campaign against the Los Angeles Rams, showcasing a schedule that is projected to be the easiest in the league. Despite a disappointing 2024 season, the 49ers are lined up for several primetime games and are looking to bounce back. “We’re ready to show that last year was an anomaly,” said Head Coach Kyle Shanahan.
The Jets, under first-year coach Aaron Glenn, will also start at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This matchup is expected to be intense, especially if former Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers faces his old team. “It’s a chance for us to start strong and set the tone for the rest of the season,” Glenn mentioned.
As many teams prepare for their upcoming seasons, each matchup promises exciting football and potential playoff implications. Fans will have plenty of thrilling games to look forward to as the NFL season approaches.
