Steve Smith Sr. Allegations News

Baltimore, MD — NFL analyst Steve Smith Sr. has come under scrutiny following allegations of infidelity made by a user identified as Tony Martinez on social media platform X. On February 22, 2025, Martinez claimed that Smith had an affair with his wife, who is a member of the Baltimore Ravens‘ Marching Band. Martinez’s posts included purported text exchanges between Smith and his wife, Nicole Martinez, and he also mentioned their connection through work.

Martinez took to X stating, ”My wife works for the Marching Ravens. She met Steve Smith Sr. at work. Steve Smith has been fu***ng my wife. I got receipts, I got a lot more homie.” He followed this with a video that allegedly shows him confronting Smith, although it remains uncertain if Smith is the voice captured in the recording.

Smith, who has been married to Angie Smith since 2000, has not yet publicly responded to the allegations. The couple shares four children: Peyton, Baylee, Boston, and Steve Jr. Amidst the rising curiosity regarding his personal life, many fans are reflecting on Smith’s history with his wife, who he met while attending the University of Utah.

Angie Smith shared her first impression of Steve, saying, ”He seemed really genuine to me. He was kind of quiet. What he said was, ‘I want to get to know you and pick your brain.’ That was different to me.” The couple married in February 2001 and have been together for more than two decades.

In a show of affection for his wife, Smith celebrated her birthday on Instagram in August 2023, excitedly exclaiming, ”Today isn’t just a normal Saturday it’s Ace’s birthday!”

Despite his fame in the NFL, Smith emphasizes the importance of academics to his children. In an interview with Pride Magazine Online, he stated, ”One of the biggest things I’ve done in my football career that I make sure and emphasize is, my kids don’t have to run, jump, catch, flip — they don’t have to play sports to go to college. So, they can focus on academics. Academics in our home is first. Sports are second.”

Smith’s children have athletic pursuits as well. His eldest son, Peyton, participated in college soccer and has fond memories of wearing his father’s jersey as a child. ”Ever since [Peyton] was one, he’s been putting on my jersey on the weekends. Now I’ll get to put on his jersey on the weekends. That’s a huge honor. It means something,” he said.

Boston, his second son, is passionate about basketball and has received interest from several schools. On April 18, 2024, Smith shared an Instagram post celebrating Boston’s birthday, remarking, ”Time flies!!! Happy birthday to Boston Gene Smith aka Bam love you and watching you grow up has been a blessing as ur father. Love my Dawg.” His daughter, Baylee, is attending cosmetology school and has frequently featured in posts alongside her father. Smith’s youngest son and third child, Steve Jr., is still in grade school.

Smith is a five-time Pro Bowler and has earned three All-Pro selections during his 16-season NFL career, primarily with the Carolina Panthers from 2001 to 2013 and the Baltimore Ravens from 2014 to 2016. His estimated net worth is reportedly around $10 million, according to a report by IB Times.

As of now, no official comment has been made by Smith regarding the infidelity claims brought forth by Tony Martinez.
