NFL Trade Rumors: Potential Moves for Myles Garrett and Other Key Players Ahead of the Deadline
With the NFL trade deadline approaching on November 5, several teams are exploring significant moves to bolster their rosters or initiate rebuilds. One of the most intriguing rumors involves Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett, who has garnered interest from multiple contenders despite his high asking price and salary.
The Atlanta Falcons, seeking to enhance their defense after a strong offensive start, are considered a potential suitor for Garrett. A possible trade could involve the Falcons sending a 2025 first-round pick, a 2025 fourth-round pick, a 2026 third-round pick, a 2026 fourth-round pick, and quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to the Browns. This move would address the Browns’ need for a quarterback following Deshaun Watson‘s season-ending injury and provide the Falcons with a game-changing defensive talent.
The Detroit Lions, who recently lost edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson to a season-ending injury, are another team that could make a strong push for Garrett. A potential trade might include the Lions offering a 2025 first-round pick, a 2026 first-round pick, and a conditional 2026 third-round pick (which could become a second-round pick if the Lions reach the Super Bowl) in exchange for Garrett. This would significantly strengthen the Lions’ defense and create a formidable edge rushing tandem once Hutchinson returns.
Beyond Garrett, other teams are also making moves and exploring trade options. The Chicago Bears, for instance, are looking to bolster their defensive line, particularly at the defensive tackle position. They might target players like Shelby Harris from the Browns or Jeremiah Ledbetter from the Jacksonville Jaguars to improve their run defense ahead of the trade deadline.
The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell, and the Los Angeles Rams are exploring trades for wide receiver Cooper Kupp, indicating a flurry of activity as teams adjust their rosters for the remainder of the season.
Additionally, the Browns are signing quarterback Bailey Zappe to their active roster, a move that reflects their immediate need for quarterback depth following Watson’s injury. This signing, along with potential trades, highlights the Browns’ transition towards a rebuild phase.
