Makar, recognized as the league’s top defenseman, has an impressive track record including a Calder Trophy and a Conn Smythe Trophy.

A crucial piece of the Oilers’ success, Leon Draisaitl, has scored 956 points over 790 games alongside McDavid. He earned the Rocket Richard Trophy this past season as the league’s top goal-scorer.

Tragically, the announcement also honors Johnny Gaudreau, who passed away in August 2024. Gaudreau had a successful run with the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets, totaling 743 points in 763 games. He won the Lady Byng Trophy in 2017 and is remembered fondly by players and fans alike.

The NHL Quarter-Century Team was determined by a fan vote conducted from February to April 2025. The reveal underscores the impact these players made through their skills and leadership within the sport.
