Nick Bosa Set to Return for 49ers in Crucial Matchup Against Rams
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa is expected to make his return to the field in the team’s Thursday night matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Bosa, who has been out for the last three games due to hip and oblique injuries, was listed as questionable but is likely to play, according to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter. The team will conduct pre-game warmups to ensure his readiness.
Bosa’s return is a significant boost for the 49ers, who are in a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive. Through 10 games this season, Bosa has accumulated seven sacks, 36 tackles (10 for a loss), one interception, one pass defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
In addition to Bosa, the 49ers will also see the return of linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who has been out since suffering an Achilles tear in Super Bowl LVIII. Greenlaw has been activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and is set to make his 2024 debut.
Rookie running back Isaac Guerendo, who sprained his foot in the last game against the Chicago Bears, is also active for the matchup despite being listed as questionable. Guerendo has expressed optimism about his ability to play, stating he ‘feels good’.
The 49ers have ruled out several players for the game, including left tackle Trent Williams (ankle), quarterback Joshua Dobbs, defensive lineman Khalil Davis (knee), safety Malik Mustapha (chest/shoulder), running back Israel Abanikanda, and cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. Guard Ben Bartch was placed on injured reserve due to a high-ankle sprain.
