Nick Woltemade’s Market Value Soars After Stellar Start at Newcastle United
STUTTGART, Germany — Nick Woltemade, a rising star in world football, is making headlines after a significant transfer to Newcastle United. The 23-year-old forward moved from VfB Stuttgart for a staggering €85 million at the end of the summer transfer window.
Woltemade has had an impressive start with the Magpies, scoring four goals in his first seven competitive matches. His performance has caught the attention of fans and analysts alike, showcasing his talent on the Premier League stage.
On Friday, the website transfermarkt.de published new market values for players in the Premier League, and Woltemade emerged as the biggest winner. His market value jumped from €30 million to €65 million, representing an increase of €35 million, or 116.67%.
This puts him among the top earners on the Newcastle roster, alongside Anthony Gordon, making him the third most valuable player on the team. Only Bruno Guimarães and Sandro Tonali have higher market values at €80 million and €75 million, respectively.
While Woltemade’s stock rises, fellow German player Florian Wirtz faces a setback. After his high-profile transfer to Liverpool, his value decreased by €10 million, bringing it down from €140 million to €130 million. As a result, he is no longer the most valuable German player; that title now belongs to Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, valued at €140 million.
Several other former Bundesliga players are also seeing market shifts. Alexander Isak rose from €120 million to €140 million, while Hugo Ekitiké increased from €75 million to €85 million. Ryan Gravenberch’s value also grew from €75 million to €90 million after joining Liverpool from Bayern Munich.
In contrast, Phil Foden of Manchester City saw a decline, with his market value dropping from €100 million to €80 million.
