Jackson Proctor Niu Football Quarterback

DeKALB, Ill. — Redshirt junior quarterback Jackson Proctor is no longer with the Northern Illinois University (NIU) football team, according to a spokesperson from NIU Athletics. Proctor’s name is absent from the team’s roster, and the reasons for his departure have not been disclosed.

Proctor, a transfer from Dartmouth, was in the mix for the backup quarterback position for the Huskies this season. He saw limited action, stepping in against Holy Cross on August 30, where he completed two passes for eight yards and rushed for 13 yards.

After joining NIU, Proctor was part of a class that included 18 players who entered the transfer portal this past offseason. He was ranked as a three-star transfer, being listed as the 168th transfer quarterback overall by 247Sports.

During his four years at Dartmouth, Proctor participated in 17 games, throwing for 2,355 yards and 18 touchdowns while maintaining a completion rate of 70%. He also contributed on the ground, rushing for 617 yards and scoring five touchdowns.

With Proctor’s departure, the Huskies are left with three quarterbacks on their roster: Josh Holst, Brady Davidson, and Jalen Macon. Davidson is expected to serve as the backup quarterback for the upcoming Homecoming game against Miami (Ohio) on Saturday.
