North Carolina Tar Heels Prepare for Rivalry Clash Against Wake Forest
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The North Carolina Tar Heels will face off against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium. This game marks an important Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) matchup for the Tar Heels, who are looking to extend their winning streak to three games.
The Tar Heels (4-5, 2-3 ACC) are coming off a narrow 20-15 victory over Stanford, in which their defense recorded nine sacks. This impressive performance showcased their ability to stifle the opposing offense, holding Stanford to just three points through three quarters.
North Carolina linebacker has been named ACC Linebacker of the Week after an outstanding game against Stanford, where he achieved a career-high 13 tackles, helping lead the team’s defensive efforts.
“Our defense has really stepped up lately,” said House. “We’ve managed to keep opponents from finding the end zone, and we aim to continue that on Saturday.”
Historically, the Tar Heels have had a competitive edge over the Demon Deacons, winning their last four meetings. Last year’s game ended in a thrilling 31-24 victory that helped North Carolina secure a bowl game.
Wake Forest, currently 6-3 and 3-3 in the ACC, recently earned a significant win over No. 12 Virginia, making them bowl eligible for the first time since 2022. The Demon Deacons are led by running back Demond Claiborne, who ranks among the top in the conference for rushing yards and touchdowns.
“We need to remain focused and play our game,” said North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick, who is in his first season as the Tar Heels’ head coach. “This rivalry is intense, and we expect a tough match.”
The game will be broadcast live on The CW, featuring Thom Brennaman, Will Blackmon, and Wes Bryant. Fans looking for updates can follow along online during the game, as both teams bring their fierce rivalry to the field in what promises to be a competitive showdown.
