In preparation for their upcoming match against the Parramatta Eels at Commbank Stadium, the North Queensland Cowboys have announced some crucial squad changes. Coach Todd Payten has decided to bring in utility Bryce Cartwright, who is returning from a rib cartilage injury. This return sees Ryan Matterson moving to the bench, with Wiremu Greig being relegated to the reserves.

Additionally, Daejarn Asi is set to make his first appearance of the season as he replaces Blaize Talagi at five-eighth. The Eels have also made changes with Morgan Harper being recalled to the line-up, playing at centre, as Bailey Simonsson moves to the wing and Maika Sivo is left out of the team.

In unfortunate news for the Cowboys, utility Jake Laybutt suffered a torn ACL in their last match, ruling him out for the remainder of the season. This injury has led to a reshuffle in the squad, with Chester being named as Laybutt’s replacement after an impressive performance in their previous game.

The rest of the Cowboys’ 17 remains unchanged for their clash with the Eels. The team is gearing up for a significant milestone as Cowboys fullback Scott Drinkwater is set to play his 100th NRL game on Saturday, coinciding with his 100th appearance for the club in Round 7.

The highly anticipated game between the North Queensland Cowboys and the Parramatta Eels is scheduled to kick off at 5.30pm on Saturday, promising an exciting showdown at Commbank Stadium.
