Notre Dame Vs Miami Basketball Game 2025

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-10, 4-5 ACC) look to continue their recent momentum as they face the struggling Miami Hurricanes (4-17, 0-10 ACC) on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m. ET at the Watsco Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Notre Dame has won three of its last four games, bringing its record to .500 for the season. A victory against Miami would mark the team’s first back-to-back ACC road wins since the 2021-22 season and head coach Micah Shrewsberry‘s first win against the Hurricanes. The Irish are currently ninth in the ACC standings, while Miami remains winless in conference play.

Sophomore guard Burton has been a standout for Notre Dame since returning from a knee injury. He has scored 20 or more points in five consecutive games, a feat not achieved by an Irish player since Ben Hansbrough in 2011. Burton averaged 22.3 points per game in January, ranking second in the ACC behind Duke‘s Cooper Flagg.

Miami, on the other hand, is mired in a 10-game losing streak. Forward Matthew Cleveland has been a bright spot, scoring at least 16 points in 10 of the last 11 games, including two 30-point performances. However, the Hurricanes’ defense ranks 349th nationally, allowing 80.7 points per game.

Notre Dame leads the ACC in three-point shooting during conference play, converting 41.3% from beyond the arc. The team has made double-digit three-pointers in three of its last five games. Grad transfer Matt Allocco has been instrumental, boasting a program-record 3.69 assist-to-turnover ratio and shooting 48.6% from three-point range.

The series between Notre Dame and Miami is evenly split, with each team winning seven games at home and one on a neutral court. The Irish trail 13-17 overall and 6-8 at the Watsco Center. Last season, Miami swept the series, winning 62-49 in Coral Gables and 73-61 in South Bend.

Notre Dame enters the game as a 7.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 148.5 points. The Irish will look to build on their recent success, while Miami seeks to end its losing streak and secure its first ACC win of the season.
