Notre Dame Dominates Maryland to Secure Back-to-Back NCAA Lacrosse Titles

Top-seeded Notre Dame showcased a dominant performance to clinch back-to-back NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse championships in a resounding victory against seventh-seeded Maryland at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Coach Kevin Corrigan, basking in the glory of his team’s triumph, expressed his pride as the Fighting Irish outplayed Maryland in every aspect of the game, ultimately sealing a 15-5 win.

The Kavanagh brothers, Chris and Pat, shone brightly on the grand stage once again. Chris netted five goals, while Tewaaraton Award finalist Pat orchestrated the offense with six assists, solidifying his candidacy as a favorite for the prestigious award.

Notre Dame’s exceptional midfield depth was on full display as all three lines contributed significantly to the team’s scoring prowess, with eight goals collectively, including a commanding early lead with five of the first six goals.

Maryland, facing offensive challenges throughout the season, struggled against Notre Dame’s stout defense led by goalie Liam Entenmann, a Tewaaraton Award finalist himself, who made 16 crucial saves during the game.
