Notre Dame’s Jack Kiser and Davis Sherwood Earn Academic Honors
Notre Dame graduate linebacker Jack Kiser and senior tight end Davis Sherwood have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The announcement was made on January 7, 2025.
Kiser, a team captain, has also been named a finalist for CSC Academic All-America honors, with the national honorees set to be announced on January 28, 2025. Kiser, who holds the record for most games played at Notre Dame (68), has been a standout on and off the field. He boasts 260 career tackles, 15 tackles for loss, six sacks, and four interceptions, including two pick-sixes.
In the classroom, Kiser has excelled with a 3.82 undergraduate GPA in business analytics and a 3.97 GPA in his master’s degree in accountancy. He was named to the 2024 National Football Foundation Honor Society and earned the Dean’s Graduate Business Award in 2023. Kiser has also been active in the community, leading initiatives like Cleats For a Cause and volunteering with local low-income families during tax season.
Sherwood, a science-business major on a pre-dental path, has maintained an impressive 3.9 GPA. The tight end has played in 51 career games for Notre Dame and was named a 2024 Military Bowl STEM Scholar-Athlete. Sherwood has also contributed significantly to special teams, helping Notre Dame rank eighth nationally in kickoff return defense.
Beyond football, Sherwood has pursued extensive clinical experience in dentistry, focusing on underserved populations. He has volunteered with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House, and the Logan Center, demonstrating a commitment to community service.
Both athletes exemplify the balance of academic excellence and athletic achievement, embodying the values of Notre Dame’s football program.
