Nottingham Forest's Injury Causes Divock Origi's Loan Move To Collapse

Nottingham Forest‘s striker Chris Wood‘s recent injury has led to a collapse in the loan move of Divock Origi, causing disappointment for both the player and his potential new club, Los Angeles FC. Origi, a Belgian forward currently on loan from Milan, seemed to be just a step away from sealing a deal worth millions, but a change of plans at Nottingham Forest disrupted the transfer.

Divock Origi, 28, was sent on loan to Forest last summer by Rossoneri, allowing them to offload his high wages while including a buy option. However, his time in England has not been very fruitful, with no goal contributions in nine games so far.

Los Angeles FC had expressed interest in Origi and had even agreed to sign him on a loan deal with a €5 million obligation to buy clause. This would have allowed Milan to easily close this chapter. However, the deal has fallen through, leaving both parties empty-handed for the time being.

Nottingham Forest’s decision to keep Origi was prompted by striker Chris Wood’s recent hamstring injury, which will keep him out of the game for the next six to eight weeks. Origi was seen as crucial cover for Wood’s absence and was thus not allowed to leave for LAFC.

As Milan misses out on a guaranteed €5 million for Origi, it marks the end of a disappointing chapter for the Belgian forward in Milan, where he managed only two goals in 36 games.
