PARIS, France — Novak Djokovic achieved his 99th career win at Roland Garros on Saturday night, defeating Austrian qualifier Filip Misolic 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the third round of the tournament.

The three-time champion’s victory comes just days after he won his 100th tour-level singles title in Geneva. Djokovic is now one win away from reaching the milestone of 100 match victories at a single tournament, a record he can achieve if he defeats Cameron Norrie in the next round.

No player has more wins at Roland Garros than Djokovic, except for 14-time champion Rafael Nadal, who holds a 112-4 record. Djokovic has not lost before the quarterfinals in Paris since 2009.

During the match against Misolic, Djokovic faced just one break point and struck 33 winners. He capitalized on a critical break during a tense fifth game in the first set, which set the tone for the rest of the match.

Djokovic acknowledged the atmosphere at Court Philippe-Chatrier, saying, “It was the first night session this year for me… there are always a lot of expectations.” He expressed his desire to reach the century of wins, adding, “I’m playing for the history books.”

Looking ahead, Djokovic noted the challenge posed by Norrie, stating, “It will not be easy. He has been playing very well.” As he inches closer to another significant milestone, fans eagerly anticipate what the next round will hold for the world No. 6.
